Mackenzie Savard

HEAD COACH OF GOALTENDER DEVELOPMENT

 

Mackenzie, serving as the Lead Goaltending Development Instructor, has spent many years being a goaltender and training at RHP Training Centre. He has worked with Shawn Sirman and Matt Bourgeois, at RHP Training Centre, since 2010.

 

Mackenzie was chosen to be on the NOHA Minor Midget All Star team during the 2012-2013 season. During his 2013-14 season Mackenzie played for the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves Major Midget team where he was the top goalie in the GNML. The Nickel Capital Wolves won the GNML and advanced to the OHF’s where Mackenzie started 3 games and was awarded the game MVP for each of the games. In 2014 Mackenzie was invited to the Niagara Falls Ice Dog main camp, as a walk on, where he committed to an OHL contract with the team.

 

Mackenzie has also competed as a member of  his hometown OHL Sudbury Wolves.  He is also continued his playing career with the Sudbury Laurentian University Voyageurs Men’s Hockey Team.

 

Mackenzie has been coaching for 9 years and loves passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm for the position to his students and is also currently  Goaltending Level 2 with Hockey Canada .

Shanna Dolighan

 

Shannon has been a goaltender for 14 years. Born and raised in Oshawa, she played on various AA teams across the GTA. She eventually ended up playing for the Whitby Lady Wolves Midget AA team for 2 years. Afterwards, she played on the Toronto Leaside Wildcats PWHL team for one year.

In 2017  Shanna moved to Sudbury to attend Laurentian University, where she obtained a Bachelors of Sport and Physical Education , as well as a Bachelors of Education. While attending Laurentian University, she played on the Women’s Varsity Hockey Team for 4 years.

Currently, she is an Occasional Teacher working in the Rainbow District School Board.

Matthew Bourgeois

 

Matthew has been privileged to have coached goalies, players and teams for over 20 years.  Matthew is very happy to call Sudbury and RHP Training Centre home.

 

Matthew has worked has worked with players both male and female from from all over the world in Canada, USA, Europe, Asia and Australia.  He has experience in coaching at some of the heist levels, including the KHL, World Championships and Olympic Qualifiers. Matthew is currently  Goaltending Level 3 Certified with Hockey Canada, Matthew is an High Performance 1 Certification Coach and his a goalie development mentor with the OHF, NOHA and OMHA.

 

With our new hockey education platform we hope to be able to deliver the most holistics development program available. Matthew believes in hard work, a diligent work ethic, communication and leading by example.

 

Matthew has obtained a Honours degree in Science and Nursing which allows him to look at development from both the physical and mental side.

Mathieu Kingsley

 

Mathieu is a Sudbury Ontario native who started playing hockey when he was 3 years old. Since then, Mathieu has played AAA hockey throughout his early teens and then making his way to Junior hockey in southern Ontario at the age of 17.

Mathieu has been playing in net since his first year of organized hockey. Hockey runs in his family with his sister Melisa having played at the CIS level and his sister Mireille who is presently playing NCAA Division I hockey at Providence College in Rhode Island. Since hanging up his skates in 2015 Mathieu has now focused on coaching and pursuing his career as a teacher.

He graduated from Laurentian University and is now a teacher at St-Charles College in the French immersion program. Mathieu continues to demonstrate a passion for sports and coaching and is always looking forward to meeting and helping players pursue their passion for hockey.

 Cameron Lamour

 

Cameron has been playing the goaltending position for the past 16 years at all different levels of hockey. He began his playing career in his hometown of Walden at age 4, and continued his journey playing for AA and AAA teams in Sudbury’s Hockey Association until he was 16, where he was then drafted in the Ontario Hockey League. Throughout his 4 years in the OHL, he spent time playing for the Saginaw Spirit, Sarnia Sting and North Bay Battalion.

 

In his last season of hockey, Cameron committed to play for the Laurentian Voyageurs Men’s Hockey Team but due to the cancellation of Laurentians Varsity Hockey Programs, it left Cameron with no place to play.

 

He now turns to coaching at RHP for the new generations of goaltenders with the knowledge he has gained through his years of playing the position and demonstrates this by bringing to each session the discipline and hard work needed in order for young goalies to make it to the next level.
