2017 WEEKLY SUMMER PROGRAMS

RHP is pleased to once again offer our weekly programs. These programs take place once per week for a total of 8 weeks. All programs start the week of July 3rd, 2017.

Learn to Skate/Fundamental Skating Skills

Our LEARN TO SKATE/FUNDAMENTALS OF SKATING PROGRAM focuses on the fundamentals of skating in a positive and fun environment. Children will learn how to stand up, build confidence on skates, balance, glide forwards and backwards, stride and stop. We will use fun and exciting games to teach students. Through concentration on edges and turns, all while improving agility, speed and control, skaters will develop a more solid set of fundamental skating skills.  Students will be broken into groups that will permit training in small groups depending on skill level. This will allow for a lot more 1 on 1 attention. We will have a 3:1 ratio of students to instructors. Children need to wear skates and a CSA approved helmet with cage.  Choose from Monday nights or Tuesday nights.

Total Skating Development

A skating specific weekly camp that will be focused on exposing young skaters to the basic fundamentals of overall skating in the game of hockey. This weekly camp will provide skaters with a positive environment to learn more about edges, balance, power, posture and speed. Participants will be challenged with more advanced skating techniques to develop confidence and improvement in each individuals overall skating ability.
